How to get onboarded with Verto

We are excited to welcome you to Verto. You’re one step away from efficient and seamless cross border transactions for your business!

We understand that onboarding can sometimes seem a bit daunting; but don't worry, we're here to make it as smooth as possible. To help you get started, we've put together a checklist of the documents we'll need from you.

Please be aware that every application is unique, and Verto may require further documentation that is not listed below.

Nigeria

Limited Companies

Business Information:

  • Your Certificate of Incorporation issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). Please make sure it’s in PDF format.

  • Memorandum of Association from CAC. Please provide a document detailing the ownership of the business as a percentage/number of shares by natural persons*

  • Proof of business operating address. This can be either of the following:

    • A business bank statement issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and contain the company name and address.

    • A valid lease agreement

For shareholders who own more than 25% of the business, please provide:

Identification:

  • Identification documents. This should be in JPEG/PNG/JPG format and can be either of the following:

    • A valid passport.

    • Government ID.

  • Proof of residential address. This can be either of the following:

    • A personal bank statement issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and must contain name and physical address).

    • A valid drivers licence.

    • A valid voter card.

    • NIN slip.

Supporting Documentation:

  • Depending on your application, we may also require some supporting documentation such as:

    • Source of funds (if applicable)

    • Supplier invoices (if applicable)

    • License documents (if applicable)

    • AML policy (if applicable)

Sole Traders or Sole Proprietors

Business Information:

  • Your Certificate of Registration issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission. Please make sure it’s in PDF format.

  • The Status Report/ New Business Name form that proves ownership of your sole proprietorship.

  • Proof of business address. This can be either of the following:

    • A business bank statement issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and contain the company name and address.

    • A valid lease agreement.

For shareholders who own more than 25% of the business, please provide:

Identification:

  • Identification documents. This should be in JPEG/PNG/JPG format and can be either of the following:

    • A valid passport

    • Government issued ID

  • Proof of residential address. This should be in PDF format and can be either of the following:

    • A personal bank statement issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and must contain name and physical address).

    • A valid drivers licence.

    • A valid voter card.

    • NIN slip

Supporting Documentation:

  • Depending on your application, we may also require some supporting documentation such as:

    • Source of funds (if applicable)

    • Supplier invoices (if applicable)

    • License documents (if applicable)

    • AML policy (if applicable)

Kenya

Limited Companies

Business Information:

  • Your Certificate of Incorporation issued by the Kenyan Registrar of Companies. Please make sure it’s in PDF format.

  • The Shareholding structure (CR12).

  • A KRA pin in PDF format (this must contain the business name and address).

  • Proof of business operating address. This can be either of the following:

    • A valid lease agreement

    • A utility bill such as an internet bill.

For shareholders who own more than 25% of the business, please provide:

Identification:

  • Identification documents. This should be in JPEG/PNG/JPG format and can be either of the following:

    • A valid passport.

    • National ID.

    • Driving licence.

  • Proof of residential address. This can be either of the following:

    • A personal KRA PIN certificate (must contain name and address)

    • A personal bank statement issued in the last 3 months (must contain name and physical address).

    • A utility bill such as an internet bill issued in the last 3 months ( (must contain name and physical address)

Supporting Documentation:

  • Depending on your application, we may also require some supporting documentation such as:

    • Source of funds (if applicable)

    • Supplier invoices (if applicable)

    • License documents (if applicable)

    • AML policy (if applicable)

Sole Traders or Sole Proprietors

Business Information:

  • Your Certificate of Registration issued by the Kenyan Registrar of Companies. Please make sure it’s in PDF format.

  • Proof of business operating address. This can be either of the following:

    • A KRA pin in PDF format (this must contain the business name and address).

    • A valid city county business permit

    • A valid lease agreement

    • A utility bill such as an internet bill.

For shareholders who own more than 25% of the business, please provide:

Identification:

  • Identification documents. This should be in JPEG/PNG/JPG format and can be either of the following:

    • A valid passport.

    • National ID.

    • Driving licence.

  • Proof of residential address. This should be in PDF format and can be either of the following:

    • A personal KRA PIN certificate (must contain name and address)

    • A personal bank statement issued in the last 3 months (must contain name and physical address).

    • A utility bill such as an internet bill.

Supporting Documentation:

Depending on your application, we may also require some supporting documentation such as:

South Africa

Limited Companies

Business Information:

  • A valid Cor 14.3 certificate issued by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC)

  • Articles/Memorandum of Association/Shareholding structure. Please provide a document clearly detailing the ownership of the business as a percentage/number of shares by natural persons. This can be the ownership Agreement (including shareholders’ organogram)*

  • Proof of business operating address. This can be either of the following:

    • A business bank statement issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and contain the company name and address.

    • A valid lease agreement

    • A utility bill issued in the last 3 months.

    • A SARS tax return statement issued in the last 1 year.

For shareholders who own more than 25% of the business, please provide:

Identification:

  • Identification documents. This should be in JPEG/PNG/JPG format and can be either of the following:

    • A valid passport.

    • SA ID book or SA ID card. Please take photos of both sides.

  • Proof of residential address. This can be either of the following:

    • A personal bank statement issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and must contain name and physical address).

    • A utility bill issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and should contain the name and address of the person.

    • A valid phone bill issued in the last 3 months.

Supporting Documentation:

  • Depending on your application, we may also require some supporting documentation such as:

    • Source of funds (if applicable)

    • Supplier invoices (if applicable)

    • License documents (if applicable)

    • AML policy (if applicable)

Sole Traders or Sole Proprietors

Business Information:

  • A letter confirming the nature of your business and stating that it is a sole proprietorship.

  • Proof of business operating address. This can be any of the following:

    • A business bank statement issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and contain the company name and address.

    • A valid lease agreement

    • A utility bill issued in the last 3 months.

    • A SARS tax return statement issued in the last 1 year.

For shareholders who own more than 25% of the business, please provide:

Identification:

  • Identification documents. This should be in JPEG/PNG/JPG format and can be either of the following:

    • A valid passport.

    • SA ID book or SA ID card. Please take photos of both sides.

  • Proof of residential address. This can be either of the following:

    • A personal bank statement issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and must contain name and physical address).

    • A utility bill issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and should contain the name and address of the person.

    • A valid phone bill issued in the last 3 months.

Supporting Documentation:

Depending on your application, we may also require some supporting documentation such as:

  • Source of funds (if applicable)

  • Supplier invoices (if applicable)

  • License documents (if applicable)

  • AML policy (if applicable)

United Kingdom

Limited Companies

Business Information:

  • A valid Certificate of Incorporation issued by Companies House. This should be in PDF format.

  • Proof of business operating address. This can be either of the following:

    • A business bank statement.

    • A business utility bill.

    • A HMRC tax document issued in the last 1 year.

For shareholders who own more than 25% of the business, please provide:

Identity Documentation:

  • Identification documents. This should be in JPEG/PNG/JPG format and can be either of the following:

    • A valid passport.

    • A national ID card or drivers licence. Please take photos of both sides.

  • Proof of residential address. This can be either of the following:

    • A personal bank statement issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and must contain name and physical address).

    • A utility bill issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and should contain the name and address of the person.

Supporting Documentation:

  • Depending on your application, we may also require some supporting documentation such as:

    • Source of funds (if applicable)

    • Supplier invoices (if applicable)

    • License documents (if applicable)

    • AML policy (if applicable)

Sole Traders or Sole Proprietors

Business Information:

  • A government tax agency letter confirming your tax ID number or a government-issued document that proves you are the sole proprietor of this business*.

  • Proof of business operating address. This can be either of the following:

    • A business bank statement.

    • A business utility bill.

    • A HMRC tax document issued in the last 1 year.

For shareholders who own more than 25% of the business, please provide:

Identification:

  • Identification documents. This should be in JPEG/PNG/JPG format and can be either of the following:

    • A valid passport.

    • A national ID card or drivers licence. Please take photos of both sides.

  • Proof of residential address. This can be either of the following:

    • A personal bank statement issued in the last 3 months. This should be in PDF format and must contain name and physical address).
