What information is needed for an individual shareholder?

When adding an individual shareholder, you must provide:

  • Nationality: Select the individual's nationality.

  • Bio Data:

    • Legal first name and last name

    • Personal email and phone number

    • Date of birth

  • Ownership Type & Percentage:

    • Direct Ownership: This applies if the individual directly owns a percentage of your company.

    • Indirect Ownership: This applies if the company signing owned by another company and that company's Ultimate Beneficiary Owner owns a percentage of your company.

    • You must also enter the percentage of ownership.

  • Identification Number: In some countries (e.g., Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa), you will be asked to provide a specific national identification number (e.g., BVN, NIN, National ID, KRA Pin etc.) in addition to other bio data.

  • Director Status: You can also confirm if this shareholder is a director.

The specific documents needed vary by country and the individual's status (e.g., if they are a minor). You will generally need to provide:

  • Proof of Identity: A government-issued ID (e.g., a passport or national ID card).

  • Proof of Residential Address: A utility bill or bank statement showing their residential address.

  • For minors: You will be required to upload the minor's birth certificate and the legal guardian's ID in the supporting documents section.

  • For U.S. residents: For business operations in the U.S., you may be required to provide a social security number as part of the verification process.
